On A Roll Here in Buffalo

Today I tried something that I've never done before.  I decided to try the bus commute with the 12 speed racing bike that I bought at a garage sale here a few days ago.

Everything went well as I learned how to hitch up the bike to the front bike rack on two buses up to Lockport and on two buses back after an afternoon of house painting.  In the photo below is my bike at University Station near the University of Buffalo.  This is where I change busses on my way to Lockport, NY.

Summer in Buffalo - 2012

I have been back in Buffalo now since the middle of April.  It is now nearing the end of July and I am praying about direction again.

So far this summer has been one of walking and taking buses just like in Juarez over this past winter.  In addition to the things mentioned above I have also produced (6) 30 minute tv programs for our local cable access studio.  I have made programs with my friends; Pastor Don Schiemant of the Healing Rooms of Buffalo-Niagara  and Pastor Joseph Krygier of New Covenant Baptist Fellowship in the town of Evans, NY and Pastor Eric Johns the pastor of the Buffalo Dream Center. http://www.buffalodreamcenter.org/

I have also been teaching AARP Driver Safety courses since returning.  I have taught 10 of these 6 hour courses in the time that I have been back.  These have been volunteer teaching opportunities but I have received a stipend of $30/course from AARP for teaching these classes.

I have received other income from a couple of weeks work at a canvas sewing company through a friend of mine but that did not turn into anything permanent.  Since that ended a couple of weeks ago I have been painting a house of another friend of mine up in Lockport, NY.

As I know and believe God to be guiding my steps it was a pleasant surprise to me how He choose to bless my friend in Juarez Pastor Julio with some new chairs for his church.  A gift of a Wal-mart gift card for the amount of $376 dollars was given to me recently here in Buffalo by a friend whose heart was spoken to by God to help out the church in Juarez.

I was able to send the card down to my friend Mario who lives near the border in New Mexico and he was able to go to the local Wal-Mart there with it and purchase 20 nice new white contour back shell folding chairs for brother Julio's church.  Still waiting for a photo of those chairs which I know is coming.  I know Pastor Julio and his people are pleased to have received this needed gift for the additional people that are starting to attend each week.

In the mean while I  am continuing to live by faith here in Buffalo, taking one day at a time and interacting with my friends here, waiting on the Lord for future direction, a possible return to Juarez in the Fall.
