Communion Sunday in Juarez

Today we had another great Sunday meeting with Pastor Julio's church. It was decided that this would be Communion Sunday and last week the folks were reminded to prepare for it. My meeting with brother Cesar in El Paso yesterday went very well and he was able to bless us with a new box of communion cups and wafer's that he was able to purchase from a local El Paso Christian bookstore. The small plastic cups contained the dark grape juice and attached to the top was the wafer. We stopped off at a local bakery on the way to church and Pastor Julio was able to purchase a small symbolic loaf of bread and once we arrived at church we were able to borrow a nice wine glass from a neighbor at the church.

I was given the opportunity to share a teaching on communion using Scripture chapters and verses from both the Old and New Testaments, while Pastor Julio interpreted for me that tied what we were about to do all together. Twenty or so minutes later we partook of the Lord's Supper as a family of God.

Enjoyed the rest of the evening after church by stopping off with Pastor Julio and his wife and four boys at a streetside hamburgesa stand and we ordered some nice big and tasty burgers to take home with us. Another Sunday in Juarez with Blessings from God. Thankful for a Christian family both in regards to the church family and Pastor Julio's personal family to share life here with.
